Information on the Disposal of Batteries, Rechargeable Batteries and Electronic Devices (EU-wide)
We sell HiFi equipment and other electrical or electronic products that may contain batteries, rechargeable batteries or built-in power storage units. Therefore, we are legally required to inform you about the following:
Disposal of Used Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries
Batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with your household waste. As an end user, you are legally obliged to return used batteries to a designated collection point. You may return them free of charge:
- at public collection points or recycling centres,
- at retail stores that sell batteries,
- or by sending them back to us (within normal consumer quantities).
Kulthifi / GRM Vertrieb und Marketing GmbH, Heinrich Schlick Straße 11, 48629 Metelen, Germany
Please ensure that lithium batteries are protected against short circuits before returning them (e.g. by taping the contacts).
Meaning of the “crossed-out wheeled bin” symbol
(symbol of the crossed-out wheeled bin – do not dispose of batteries in household waste)
This symbol is printed on batteries or their packaging and indicates that they must not be disposed of with household waste. The following chemical symbols may appear underneath the symbol:
- Pb – contains lead
- Cd – contains cadmium
- Hg – contains mercury
Disposal of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)
Electrical and electronic equipment must not be disposed of with household waste in accordance with the European WEEE Directive. This includes many HiFi devices, power supplies, remote controls and accessories.
Symbol for separate collection of electronic devices
(crossed-out wheeled bin symbol for electrical devices – separate collection)
This symbol appears on electrical products or their packaging. These devices must be taken to an appropriate collection point. You may return them free of charge:
- to municipal collection points,
- to WEEE recycling centres,
- or to authorised return points in the retail sector (depending on the type of device).
Devices with built-in rechargeable batteries
Many modern HiFi devices contain non-removable rechargeable batteries. These devices must also be taken to collection points, where batteries and devices are separated and recycled properly.
Your Contribution to Environmental Protection
By properly disposing of batteries, rechargeable batteries and electronic devices, you help protect the environment and conserve valuable resources. Proper recycling ensures that harmful substances are handled safely and valuable materials can be reused.
