T+A high end CD-Player CD 1200 R:

T+A described this device in their brochures as follows:

„The CD 1200 R is the smallest CD player model in the T + A program. As in the other CD players, a freely programmable signal processor (DSP) is used. A DSP can process digital signals as desired; Therefore better oversampling is achieved than would be possible with conventional standard chips. Previous oversampling filters are trimmed to a smooth frequency response without regard for the time domain behavior (transient response). Here, long pre-emphases and after-singers are accepted, which can strongly distort the musical event, in particular impulses. In the CD 1200 R a certain class of these filters is used. The filter does not produce any pre-echoes. On pre-echoes, the human ear reacts particularly sensitively, since these do not occur in nature at all, and they are not obscured by the main signal. In addition, the filter also has a smooth frequency response, which is considerably better than with other polynomial filters.“
