Braun described this product as follows:

"The CC4 has the same systems as the R4: it is control center with built-in preamplifier, via which you remote control the atelier system. And at the same time an excellent radio with an automatic saturation scan, which works in 50 kHz steps. Many private users - in the future even more than today - are however at the 25 KHz intervals. CC4 and R4 receive them just as well as all other transmitters, by manual fine-tuning. And another thing: Regrettably, weakly incidental transmitters tend to make noise. For this, R4 and CC4 have a high-blend key. The malfunction disappears, and when you program one of these stations, CC4 and R4 store the High Blend with the same. The unified difference to the R4 can be found on the back of the CC4. Instead of four outputs for speakers are four pre-out jacks. Connect the CC4 to up to two power amplifiers or your active speakers."
