Tonar cork/rubber turntable rest
Over the last 20 years, the quality of turntables and vinyl records has improved dramatically.
Acoustic feedback is one of the biggest problems when playing records. This is caused by the sound generated by the loudspeakers coming back to the record player and causing it to vibrate. The problem is that there is a very small time difference between the sound being played back and the sound coming back to the turntable. This leads to a great loss of detail and clarity and makes the sound "muddy". Therefore, every effort must be made to isolate both the turntable from its surroundings and the record from the turntable.
In order to reduce the acoustic feedback from the environment to the record and the cartridge, much effort has been put into the development of turntable mats that make the reproduced sound crystal clear and rich in detail. This has involved experimenting with different materials that absorb unwanted vibrations that were not present in the original recording. Now many people are trying to combine these different materials at the same time as a sandwich to achieve better results. Tonar now offers you the opportunity to experiment yourself, but at a modest price.
To achieve a better contact between the record and the mat, the middle part - with the dimensions of the label - has been cut out to accommodate the thicker label part.
