Quote from the Braun brochure from back then:

“The GS4, GS5 and GS6 equipment cabinets were designed as base cabinets for all Atelier audio and video modules: they are just as wide and deep as an Atelier module. Thanks to the same dimensions, the device cabinets can be placed next to or on top of each other in any combination. You can therefore set up your Atelier system with the Atelier cabinets however you like. Even freely in the room: the appliance cabinets also function as room dividers because they are lacquered on all sides. And the Atelier system can stand freely in the room because the cables on the back are concealed by panels. The cables are routed inside our appliance cabinets - behind a cover strip on the back.”
