Quote from the Braun brochure from back then:

"In conjunction with the cabinet and drivers, the crossover is the essential control component of our CompactMonitors. A crossover has the task of distributing the individual frequencies to the tweeter, midrange and woofer. By significantly increasing the use of materials and using high-quality components, the a/d/s development department has achieved its goal: lifelike reproduction with optimum localization accuracy. Our new crossover works very linearly. Linearity means the smallest possible difference in sound and volume compared to the original music across the entire sound spectrum. (For connoisseurs: "Linkwitz" filter technology and 12-24 dB slope.) The CM crossover has an exceptionally uniform impedance and is therefore extremely amplifier-friendly."
