T&A HiFi CD 1200 R CD player in black:
T&A describes its products in its brochures like this:
"The CD 1200 R is the smallest CD player model in the T+A range. As in the other CD players, a freely programmable signal processor (DSP) is used. A DSP can process digital signals as required; therefore better oversampling is achieved than would be possible with conventional standard chips. Previous oversampling filters have been trimmed to a frequency response that is as smooth as possible without consideration of the time domain behavior (transient response). Here, long pre- and post-oscillations are accepted, which can strongly deform the music, especially impulses. The CD 1200 R uses a certain class of these filters. The filter produces no pre-echoes. The human ear is particularly sensitive to pre-echoes, since these do not occur naturally and are not masked by the main signal like after-shoots. In addition, the filter has a smooth frequency response, which is considerably better than other polynomial filters.
