Receiver a/d/s HiFi R4, black, very good condition, 5808/51720

Receiver Braun Atelier HiFi R4:

Rare US version of the Braun Receiver R4.

Here you get an original Braun a/d/s Receiver R4 in the a/d/s version built for the American market. That's why it has the letters a/d/s on the front instead of the Braun logo.

Quote from the Braun brochure from that time:

"The receiver that thinks for itself - with 2 x 130 watts.
The R4 fulfills several tasks at once. First of all it is the control center of the remote controlled Atelier system. In addition, it is amplifier and tuner in one device, i.e. amplifier and radio receiver. The R4 receives the signal of the remote control RC1 and forwards it internally to a processor, which controls the corresponding component. No matter which function you select: The display clearly reports back where the music is playing from.
The R4 has 2 x 130 watts of music power. If you want to connect active speakers or an external power amplifier, the preamplifier and power amplifier can be easily separated in the R4. The R4 not only amplifies sound signals from HiFi components, but also from televisions. You can thus amplify the TV sound in HiFi quality. Also in the interaction of picture and sound the R4 does not spare a luxury. It has a TV automatic, which means that it turns on when you start the TV.
Of course, the R4 is also an excellent radio. To be precise, it's a PLL crystal synthesizer tuner, which ultimately means crystal clear reception. To save you the trouble of searching for stations, the R4 has preset memories. You can hold 30 stations there - either on AM or FM."

Technical condition:

Perfect condition, device was overhauled in our workshop.

The following work was done:

•     Ribbon cable on main board and control panel repaired and new soldered on.
•     4x Tansistor for quiescent current supply replaced
•     Loudspeaker relay renewed
•     Pnono MC/MM switch cleaned
•     Calibrated the quiescent current of the power amplifier
•     Various interruptions on the circuit board repaired
•     Test run carried out
