Stereo laser CD player with front operation and motor-driven disk trolley for playing the compact disk

4-digit seven-segment display for playing time, 2-digit seven-segment display to show the selected track/index. LED and word displays for operating status.

Title/index skip forwards/backwards, fast forward and rewind with two speeds

Fold-out control panel for special functions. Playback programs from up to 30 tracks on a CD in any order. Program display of the track numbers that make up a program.

255 CD programs, non-volatile memory. Automatic recall of the CD programs after inserting the CD and display in the program display.

Analog and digital section with separate power supply. D/A interface separated by sono and optocoupler. Mute function at zero crossing of the audio signal. Digital audio and subcode output.

Remote control via RC1 remote control transmitter. Headphone output with dedicated volume control.

Switchable auto-start function for timer operation with suitable control unit or external timer.

Drive with torsion-resistant die-cast aluminum frame. Vibration-controlled servo amplification.

Device with sheet steel chassis and plastic side panels, front panel and rear cover plate made of aluminum profiles.

Optical condition:
The housing is clean and in good condition, with slight signs of wear on the controls. The display is clear and without scratches. Overall, the device looks good and only shows the usual signs of use (light scratches and or quirks) on the casing that are typical for its age.

Technical condition:
The appliance has been thoroughly checked and all necessary repairs have been carried out to ensure that it is in perfect working order. Defective parts have been replaced where necessary and the appliance has been cleaned to ensure optimum performance. We also carried out all necessary maintenance to ensure that the appliance remains reliable in the long term.

The units are in very good condition, technically as well as optically. They were all overhauled in our specialized workshop.

- 2 drive belts and drawer belts renewed

- Power supply unit checked

- Mechanical parts cleaned and lubricated according to manufacturer's specifications

CC4/2 tuner preamplifier - slight signs of use, very good condition, perfect function.

Unit is workshop overhauled - the following things were done:

- Unit checked for cold solder joints and these eliminated

- relay contacts cleaned

- defective components renewed

- storage capacitor for transmitter memory renewed

PA4/2 power amplifier - slight signs of use, very good condition, perfect function.

Back flaps possibly with imprint from other device, operating instructions (copy).

The PA4/2 was overhauled in our workshop - the following things were done:

- Unit checked

- Power supply overhauled

- conductor break eliminated

- Relay control repaired

- Loudspeaker relay renewed

- Quiescent current set according to manufacturer's specifications

- test run

CD5/2 CD Player - : very good condition, slight signs of use, perfect function, slider belt renewed.

Back flaps possibly with imprint from other device, operating instructions (copy).

Unit workshop overhauled, the following things were done:

- drive belt renewed

- Laser unit cleaned

- Drawer adjusted and oiled

- End position switch cleaned

- Zane wheels greased

RC1/2 remote control - perfect technical and optical condition

A great and above all very rare unit, which also contains real Last Edition components (i.e. the /2 units).

Quote from the Braun brochure from back then:
"The quality of our components starts with the materials we use to make them. The CD4 has a housing made of thick aluminum sheet, its drive is made of die-cast aluminum and embedded in a special sub-chassis suspension. This allows the laser to work very quietly even if the housing is shaken. What the laser reads from the CD only gains acoustic quality in the filters. The perfect harmony of the analog and digital filters in the CD4 ensures a smooth progression of the frequencies and thus an absolutely natural, uncolored reproduction.
The CD4 allows you to program 16 tracks in any order. It has forward and rewind in two speeds. The CD4 becomes really convenient thanks to the title/index skip in both directions and the continuous repetition of a CD, a title, a CD section or a program sequence."

Optical condition:

The case is clean and in good condition, with light signs of wear on the controls. The display is clear and without scratches. Overall, the Player looks good and only shows the usual signs of use (light scratches and or marks) on the casing, which are typical for its age.
