Braun described this device in its brochures as follows:

"Record player with quartz-controlled direct drive. "ULM" tonearm and fully automatic. The P3 achieves the excellent synchronisation value through quartz control. The quartz frequency can be switched off and the speed adjusted by +/- 3.5% for individual pitch fine-tuning. All functional sequences are controlled from the front using short-stroke buttons. Speed and disc diameter can be adjusted separately - e.g. for maxi-singles. The turntable and tonearm are acoustically decoupled by sub-chassis and are digital-proof. The tonearm in "ULM" technology is dynamically balanced, which means that the scanning properties do not change even with warped discs. The P3 is equipped with the Ortofon mag 2-E magnetic system as standard."

The housing of the record player shows normal light scratches and or slight quirks. The controls are in good condition, have been cleaned and respond reliably.

The acrylic cover has been scratched over the years, which is normal for a device of this age.

Optical condition:

This device is in very good condition. Optically very good with only minimal  signs of usage. The top cover has scratches.

Technial condition:

Technically also very good. Plays very good with great sound.The pick will be sold as defect.

Braun PS 500 record player in black

"The PS 500 turntable appeared in 1968 as a complement to the high-priced PS 1000 studio turntable and was one of Braun's best-selling turntables (after the PS 350 model). It is a semi-automatic manual turntable (= automatic end stop/return of tonearm as well as manual guiding of the tonearm to the desired start position and touchdown by lift).  The platter is driven in 2 stages via belt/ intermediate shaft and friction wheel for optimum decoupling between drive and platter. Turntable and tonearm are suspended - separately from the motor - on a separate, extra-damped chassis."

Braun described its devices in the brochures like this:
"The HiFi turntable PS 500 is a highly qualified presence device. Its turntable runs particularly smoothly and quietly. Its tonearm is mounted almost friction-free and is balanced so that no gravity acts on the needle. The platter and arm are spring-mounted in the housing, hydraulically damped and therefore largely insensitive to shock and vibration.

For playback, the turntable must be connected to an amplifier with an input for magnetic pickup systems. Only high-quality (hi-fi) stereo amplifiers can bring out the exceptional qualities of the PS 500. Its qualities would be wasted if the PS 500 were operated together with ordinary equipment."

Record Player Braun Atelier HiFi P4

Rare opportunity for Braun fans and collectors: here you get a Braun a/d/s turntable. This unit was built for the American market and therefore has the a/d/s logo on the front panel.

It has been refurbished and rebuilt by us for use in Germany.

Technically, the units are identical in construction to the units on the European market.

Quote from the Braun brochure from that time:

"The P4 is the sophisticated result of years of experience in turntable development:

A fully automatic unit, optionally equipped with a moving-coil pickup system or a moving-magnet system (P4 M).

The most important feature is its electrically driven tonearm, which can be moved via the rocker switch. By lightly tapping slowly, later quickly. This way you can find your favorite spot on the record without touching the tone arm.

Almost all functions of the P4 are controlled by a microprocessor and can be operated even when the hood is closed.

Automatically, the P4 determines the point where the needle should touch down on the record. You don't hear the sound immediately, because the touchdown impulse doesn't do the speakers any good. And when the record has played out, the tonearm retires, with no crackling or hanging."
